This is the third book in a series of fascinating tomes on Yellowstone wolves by the man who has observed more wild wolves than anyone in history.
Way, J. 2020. Book Review – The Reign of Wolf 21: The Saga of Yellowstone’s Legendary Druid Pack, by Rick McIntyre. Canadian Field-Naturalist 134: 392-393. This is the second in a series of fascinating books on Yellowstone wolves by the man who has observed more wild wolves than anyone in history.
Way, J.G. 2020. E-book (Revised, 2021). The Trip of a Lifetime: A Pictorial Diary of My Journey Out West. Eastern Coyote/Coywolf Research, Barnstable, MA. 561 pages. Open Access URL: http://www.easterncoyoteresearch.com/thetripofalifetime/. This adventure story is the result of a dream month-long trip I took during summer 2019 visiting many western national parks, including Yellowstone. It includes nearly 1,000 pictures in the 561 page volume!
Way, J.G. 2020. E-book (Revised, 2021). Northeastern U.S. National Parks: What Is and What Could Be. Eastern Coyote/Coywolf Research. 268 pages. Open Access URL: http://www.easterncoyoteresearch.com/northeasternusnationalparks/. This book makes the case to expand the National Park (NP) System in the Northeast, beyond just having Acadia National Park as its only large “natural” park, by adding 3 units: Cape Cod NP, Kancamagus NP in NH, and Maine Woods NP and Preserve. It includes over 500 pictures.
Way, J. 2020. Book Review – Re-Bisoning the West: Restoring an American Icon to the Landscape, by Kurt Repanshek. Canadian Field-Naturalist 134: 94-95. This is a great book on the efforts to save the species and to continue to repopulate them in additional landscapes. It discusses the importance of Yellowstone in many sections of the book.
Way, J.G. 2015. Book Review – Wolves on the Hunt: The Behavior of Wolves Hunting Wild Prey. Canadian Field Naturalist 129: 297-299. This was perhaps my favorite book review of the last couple years. Also, please refer to the right hand column side of page 2 (page 298 of the journal article) about the importance of national parks, especially Yellowstone, for this book to come into existence.
Way, J.G. 2013. Book Review – In The Presence of Buffalo: Working to Stop the Yellowstone Slaughter. Canadian Field Naturalist 127: 366-367. This book was written to stop the mindless (or maybe I should say mindful) hate and discrimination shown by state and federal governments toward wild bison populations.
Way, J. G. 2013. My Yellowstone Experience: A Photographic and Informative Journey to a Week in the Great Park. Eastern Coyote Research, Cape Cod, Massachusetts. 152 pages. This is my second full-length book following Suburban Howls. MYE is 152 pages with 306 pictures printed in full color on glossy paper.
